Some favorite cats I've loved and lost.  Harry was my first, a black and white cat I got together with my boyfriend, who later became my husband.  He named him Harry Truman.  Natasha was the next kitty we got.  She was a pretty little all-black cat who loved to socialize.  Years later I loved Paris, an all-white barn cat with amber eyes.  Paris was the first cat I had who liked to fetch.  He liked to chase raw green beans as well as toy mice.  Next came Natalia, a beautiful long-haired tabby, and Melanie, a pretty white cat.  (They replaced Paris after he had a terrible accident.)  Natalia is the only cat I've had who loved cantaloupe, and Melanie loved peanuts.  Strange.  One of my all-time favorite cats was Pasha.  He was a black long-haired cat that we picked up off the streets of Istanbul.  He was so beautiful and devoted to me.  Unfortunately he died of F.I.P. when he was only four.  I replaced him with another cat -- Rajah, a black Turkish Angora, my first purebred in my attempt to replicate Pasha.  Along with Rajah I got another Turkish Angora, a funny brown tabby named Winston.  I still have Winston, but Rajah only lasted 8 years, when he succumbed to cancer.  He was a very sweet and pretty cat, although nothing like Pasha.  I'm thinking of cats, because just Friday I had to have one euthanized.  He was such a sweet cat, a stray my elderly mother fed in South Carolina.  When she came to live here in Maryland, I brought the cat to live too, although he had just been an outdoor cat until then.  He didn't have a name except Kitty, so when I took him to the vet, I called him Mr. Kitty.  Unfortunately he turned out to be FELV positive, which meant he wouldn't live too long.  However he lived here with her at her assisted living and then with me for over two years very happily until he suddenly went downhill last week.
