I really enjoy being with my dogs and cats. They are so funny, even when they get into things. I like to meditate, especially with my "Circle" friends. We all get a really good feeling after having been together and meditated on some visualization or idea. The Memory Keeper's Daughter is an excellent book. I related to having a child with disabilities and the theme that one can deal with a child like that. Although the girl in the book was high-functioning and my child is at the opposite end of the spectrum, I've always felt that one could love such a child. It's far better to face the challenges than to try to escape from them, as the book points out.
One of my favorite things is creating my own jewelry. There are no rules. Putting together whatever I wish - colors, textures, shapes - and if it isn't what I had hoped for I can break it down, rearrange components or just scrap the whole thing. There is no deadline - there are no requirements, except that I am pleased with the piece. Making rosaries is very relaxing - I have an abundance of them!!
My favorite book is Magnificent Obsession - the theme is to do a good deed for someone and then that person does a good deed for someone else, etc. It would seem that, with the world in its current state, this might be a theme whose time has come.
